Favorite Reads of 2009

In 2009 on goodreads, I gave five stars ("it was amazing") to only two books. It appears that I gave another 45 books a four-star rating ("really liked it"). The following are a few of my favorites of those 47 good reads:

By the way, the first and last are the books that got five stars.

  1. Bridge to Terabithia is such a good book. So sad.

I need to get around to Parkhurst's book one of these days. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I really want to read The Help. I've heard such great things about it.

I hope you have a great 2010, Alison!

  2. I've never read anything by Neal Shusterman. After finding it on your list I think I'll have to look for it at the library!

I 'm glad to see that you enjoyed North of Beautiful too. Lyrical writing.

I also like your 20-10 and 20-10 idea. I may need to come back and check what you read. Our libraries here don't have as good a Book Rec. list. But then again, maybe the grass is always greener on the other side of a state line!!!

    Happy New Year.

  3. I was iffy about The Help at first, too. I forget what finally swayed me, but I'm really glad I read it - it was one of my Books of the Year, too.

I'm glad you finally got the chance to read Carolyn Parkhurst's Lost and Found - I had a feeling you'd like the similarities to The Amazing Race :-).

  4. Still waiting on The Help to show up at the library for me. I'm guessing the line for it is insane.
