Library Loot - April 11

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and Alessandra to encourage bloggers to share what they’ve checked out from the library.

I've not felt very well today, but my husband brought me home these three items I had previously put on hold:

  1. I hope you feel better soon!

And that's a very nice loot. I love #3 and have heard nothing but great things about #2.

  2. Good for your husband! I hope you feel better soon as well. :) I've been wanting to read The Housekeeper and The Professor: the cover's so gorgeous!

  3. I had a comment but my computer mouse started going nuts, so I'll start over! Currently from the library I have a PD James book, "The Lighthouse," plus the latest in the Jesse Stone series by Robert Parker. I think a book by Barbara Vine (it may be called "The Birthday Present") just came in -- havent' gotten it yet. This one isn't from the library but is just wonderful. It's bipolar bare (no caps) by Carlton Davis and is his memoir about struggling with and coming to terms with mental illness. Very powerful, with incredible writing that sings. He even has drawings and sketches in there that really add a whole new dimension to this book in particular and the memoir genre in general. You know what they say about a picture being worth a thousand words.

  4. Oo! Good choices! I really enjoyed the Alexander McCall Smith book as well as Neil Gaiman's. I haven't read the third one, but I love that cover.
