A Short Guide to a Happy Life
by Anna Quindlen

Published in 2000. 50 pages.

This tiny book - which appears to me to have been written as a speech for a college graduation ceremony - is the sort of thing that we all ought to read every year or so: a reminder of what happiness is and where it is to be found. The black-and-white photographs throughout the book illustrate the concepts well.

  1. I hope you don't have to do a handstand like that to be happy or I'm in trouble!

  2. I have been to some graduation ceremonies that I have loved the speech, so this appeals to me. I think I'd like to read it. Thanks!

  3. I love Anna Quindlen's non-fiction writing. Have you read "How Reading Changed My Life" by her? Another short book but an excellent one :)
