Sunshine and Roses

The reverse of last week’s question:

Imagine that everything is going just swimmingly. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and all’s right with the world. You’re practically bouncing from health and have money in your pocket. The kids are playing and laughing, the puppy is chewing in the cutest possible manner on an officially-sanctioned chew toy, and in between moments of laughter for pure joy, you pick up a book to read . . .

What is it?

I'm having a hard time answering this question. I guess my biggest reaction is that if life is going so well, that must mean I have lots of time and energy for reading! Woohoo! So maybe I'd be off to the library or the bookstore to stock up with a great big pile of everything that looks good to me. I'm sure I'd focus on the latest releases by favorite authors as well as some of the bestseller/new releases I could find. I'd probably tackle some of the many books I've been meaning to get around to someday too.

  1. I confess, I'd probably be off to the bookstore as well, to sip an iced latte while browsing through books.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog.

  4. I'd be off to the bookstore and load up on my fav authors. I already did in the last few days in Syd during my vacation. Hehe... And then snuggle up with my coffee. Blissful...

    Happy belated BTT!

  5. I agree that this week's question was tougher, but here's my theory about why: When things are going badly, reading is a means of comfort - and escape. When life is good, we may want to be more engaged with it, and (gasp!) participate more instead of read. What do you think?

But maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, because that trip to the bookstore sounds really good to me! :-)
